A technology investor with engineers in its group.
Slovakia Technology Investments a.s. (STI) is a Slovak joint-stock company based in Košice and registered on 31 January 2006. It invests its own capital in technology companies, intellectual property and research results, and owns the engineering and R&D companies that help those investments work.
Mission
To help high-tech projects succeed – by giving good technology the capital, engineering and IP structure it needs, including when the company behind it is in difficulty.
Vision
A Europe where fewer good technologies are lost to financing accidents: where research results find owners, patents are not dropped only because nobody paid the fee, and an insolvency becomes a change of owner for the technology rather than its end.
Positioning
STI is not a fund, a patent firm or a research institute. It combines capital, IP work and technical capacity in one company, with decisions taken directly by its management.

We judge what a technology can do before we judge the state of the company that owns it.

We invest our own money. The person you deal with can commit STI.

Engineers involved
Due diligence and execution draw on the engineers of our group companies.

Clear answers early
Within five working days we tell you whether we will look further. A reasoned no is better than a slow maybe.

Respect for people
Founders, researchers and employees carry the knowledge. A restart needs them.

Confidentiality
Situations in difficulty are sensitive. Information is handled with discretion from the first message, and under a confidentiality agreement before any confidential details are exchanged.
Where we work
From eastern Slovakia, across Europe
STI is based in Košice, Slovakia's second city and a centre of engineering, IT and university research, close to the borders of Hungary, Poland and Ukraine. We invest and buy in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and across Europe, and work with partners beyond it.
